BÖSENDORFER NEW YORK SHOWROOM OPENS

Bringing its world famous instruments to Midtown Manhattan, Bösendorfer celebrated the opening of New York City’s first exclusive Bösendorfer piano showroom at 200 Lexington Avenue, home of the New York Design Center. The opening marked the 175-year-old Viennese company’s first exclusive showroom in the United States.

Performances by Bösendorfer Artist Mariam Nazarian, as well as pianist and composer Seth Kaufman, engaged more than 50 guests in the elegant showroom opening night. Ms. Nazarian played Chopin’s Waltz in A-Flat Major and Schubert’s Impromptu in E-Flat Major and Mr. Kaufman performed Vertical and Plum –colored Fields, his own original contemporary jazz compositions. The guests warmly received both performances, which were played on a brand new Bösendorfer Concert Grand Model 280. Following Ms. Nazarian and Mr. Kaufman, the floor was open to all pianists in attendance.

“This is a dream come true for me to bring Vienna’s finest instruments to New York and to be responsible for their presentation,” said Bösendorfer New York’s president, Gerhard Feldmann. “These pianos have been an integral part of my life and career, and it is a personal joy to introduce others to their unsurpassed quality, sound, design and craftsmanship.”
