Partnership with Bösendorfer New York

INAUGURATIONAL EVENT MARKED THE BEGINNING OF THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE METROPOLITAN OPERA AND GOETHE-INSTITUT NEW YORK

The Goethe-Institute New York was pleased to announce that its official piano for concerts and recitals is the new Bösendorfer grand piano provided by Bösendorfer New York proprietors Gerhard & Lisa Feldmann perfectly facilitating the recital series presented by the Metropolitan Opera and Goethe-Institute New York showcasing the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program of pianists and singers.

Peter Soetje, director of the Goethe-Institute New York, emphasized his enthusiasm about the new piano that accentuates the brilliant acoustics of the Goethe-Institute’s chamber music auditorium: “I am very grateful for the partnership with Bösendorfer New York.”

“What a gorgeously beautiful venue, what a perfect match – the unsurpassed quality of sound of the Bösendorfer teamed up with young pianistic talent and great upcoming voices” said Mr. Feldmann. Even Plácido Domingo notes: “Sometimes pianists try to sound like singers: Me personally, I try to sound like a Bösendorfer”. The piano, a parlour grand Model 200 has a very wide dynamic range of sound – due to its unique construction and design closest to the range of the human voice.
