BLUE NOTE UNVEILED BRAND NEW BOSENDORFER HALF CONCERT GRAND

Celebrating his latest Justin Time release, “Suite For
New York”, pianist and composer D.D. Jackson opened the evening by honoring the presence of the Blue Note’s brand new Bösendorfer 225 grand piano.

“Ever since I first caught glimpse of the magnificent golden-pedaled, extra-keyed Bösendorfer when I was a young piano student (it was the instrument of choice at a Music Club I performed at regularly back then), I knew I was in love and would one day want to become a Bösendorfer Artist.

It has now been the instrument of choice for six of my CD’s as leader (including my Juno-award-winning solo piano CD “...so far”) and I think is the perfect match for any pianist who wants exceptionally beautiful rounded tone, pared with remarkable power and dynamic range and unparalleled response of action,” said Jackson.

Following the performance, Blue Note owner, Danny Bensusan hosted a presentation to Bösendorfer New York’s proprietors, Gerhard & Lisa Feldmann, commemorating the inauguration.

Mr. Bensusan reiterated, "We are very happy to have Bösendorfer in the Blue Note. This new piano is a wonderful addition to our club and sure to enhance the experience of both the musicians and patrons.”

The piano, a half concert grand Model 225, is a 7’4” piano with a very wide dynamic sound range - due to its unique construction and design. The piano has four additional sub-bass keys, extending the bass range of the piano to bottom F, which provides a larger soundboard and produces more volume when needed, making it refreshingly ideal for jazz.
